Job description
The Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Technical Compliance Manager to take the lead in ensuring food safety, quality, and legal standards across our Malton Site. This is a critical role in ensuring our food safety, quality, legal, and animal welfare obligations are met without compromise. You'll lead compliance across our operations, driving robust systems and working closely with colleagues at every stage of production. Leading the specifications, analytical, traceability, and compliance teams, you'll embed a "right first time" culture and champion continuous improvement.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, animal welfare, and compliance in food manufacturing, ideally within pork or a similar protien
  • Experience managing HACCP systems and welfare compliance within slaughter/production operations
  • Skilled auditor with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communicator and leader, able to influence at all levels
  • Confident in policy writing, documentation, and audit reporting
  • Proven experience in a technical or compliance management role, ideally within meat processing
  • Track record of leading teams and cross-functional initiatives
  • Organised, resilient, and solutions-focused with a passion for high standard

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop site compliance systems and standards across slaughter, production, and added value operations
  • Oversee internal audit programmes and ensure readiness for third-party and regulatory inspections
  • Manage HACCP, TACCP/VACCP, and animal welfare compliance plans
  • Act as the key contact for the Official Veterinarian (OV), customers, and external stakeholders
  • Champion compliance and welfare standards across all departments
  • Provide training and guidance to embed best practice behaviours in food safety and animal welfare
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and documentation are accurate and up to date
  • Horizon scan to anticipate and prepare for regulatory and industry changes
