TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research (KI) - Langer Lab, is seeking to join the Jaklenec Group to develop injectable drug delivery systems for vaccines and therapeutics, focusing on mRNA-lipid nanoparticles. Responsibilities include designing, fabricating, and characterizing drug delivery materials, conducting rigorous testing using animal models, and performing various analyses.

The role involves:

  1. Fabrication & characterization: developing and characterizing lipid nanoparticles using DLS, TEM, NMR, zeta potential analysis, and HPLC.
  2. Assessing mRNA stability and loading capacity.
  3. Animal studies: administering injections (intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intraperitoneal) in mice and rats.
  4. Performing in-vivo imaging and analyzing bio-samples (blood, tissue, organ homogenates) using qPCR, ELISA, and fluorescence imaging.
Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, material science, engineering, or related field; minimum of two years of relevant lab experience, including undergraduate experience; willingness to work with animals; experience in drug delivery, biomaterials, molecular biology, or related fields; strong documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED: Master's degree in a relevant field; experience with histology, flow cytometry, micro molding, lipid nanoparticle synthesis, and drug delivery material characterization.
