Job summary

A national regulatory body in the UK is seeking independent technical assessors experienced in the carriage of dangerous goods. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of relevant legislation and certification processes. This role offers work on a flexible day rate basis, depending on customer demands. Candidates must demonstrate impartiality when dealing with accredited bodies.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of ADR, RID, IMDG Code, EN12972.
  • Experience in inspection and certification of tanks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Work on a day rate basis as project demands arise.

Overview

UKAS is seeking experienced and dynamic individuals with a background in the Carriage of Dangerous Goods (tanks activities) to work as independent technical assessors.

Responsibilities and qualifications
  • Have very strong knowledge required of Legislation, ADR, RID, IMDG Code, EN12972.
  • Be experienced in the inspection and certification of tanks and conformity assessment processes associated with Type Approval, Initial Inspection or Periodic Inspection.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, being able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

It is important that our assessors are acceptable to a wide range of accredited bodies, and therefore it is important that they can demonstrate a good degree of impartiality.

UKAS contracts independent technical assessors on a day rate basis, the level of work depends on the demands that our customers place on us and therefore UKAS cannot guarantee specific levels of work.
