Team Manager – Qualified Social Worker

Location: North Wales
Pay Rate: £49 per hour

Are you an experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker ready to lead a team that truly makes a difference? We’re looking for a dedicated Team Manager to lead a Family Support Team in North Wales – someone who can drive positive outcomes for children and families while fostering a strong, supportive team culture.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead from the front, influence strategic decision-making, and support a high-performing team delivering critical services across Child Protection, Children in Need, and Court Work.

About the Role

As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of Social Workers delivering high-quality statutory services. You’ll guide them in their work with children and families under the Children Act 1989 and other key legislation, including those:

  • In need of protection
  • Looked after by the local authority
  • Requiring early support and robust intervention

You will also:

  • Lead on complex case decision-making and planning
  • Ensure timely assessments and interventions are delivered to high standards
  • Monitor performance and compliance in line with service targets and expectations
  • Support professional development through regular supervision, reflective practice, and coaching
  • Champion a culture of child-centred practice, resilience, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For

To be successful, you’ll need to bring:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification
  • Registration with Social Work England (or Social Care Wales)
  • At least 2 years' post-qualified experience, ideally including team leadership or senior practitioner roles
  • A strong background in Children in Need, Child Protection, and Court Work
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance
  • Strong decision-making and risk assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and people management abilities
  • A creative, flexible and forward-thinking approach to family support
