Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full Time Team Manager position within the Adult Autism Diagnostic service based at Keegan Court, Grassbanks, Gateshead.

The service is a Trust wide service covering Northumberland, North Tyneside, Newcastle/Gateshead, Sunderland and south of Tyne. Normal working hours would ordinarily be across Monday to Friday (9-5pm) should condensed hours.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, effective care and an efficient service to patients and their carers who live within the community.
  • Monitor the performance and quality of the service the team delivers.
  • Carry out clinical leadership and effective day‑to‑day management of the team.
  • Commit to promoting recovery and maximising independence and fulfilling wider management responsibilities as required by the organisation.
  • Provide day‑to‑day management of the team, hold excellent communication skills and ability to form positive working relationships with Systems Partners.
  • Support recruitment, retention and induction of staff.
  • Conduct clinical and managerial supervision, appraisals and oversight of individuals development.
  • Manage performance and absence/staff wellbeing.
  • Ensure statutory and mandatory training is completed.
  • Support implementation and development of patient and carer experience.
  • Oversight of a support with informal and standard complaints process.
  • Engage within interface meetings.
  • Deal with grievance and disciplinary cases.
  • Motivate, engage and develop the team within a multi‑disciplinary team environment.
  • Lead and coordinate team communication, including holding regular team meetings, communicating and consulting on service changes (which may be contentious), and acting as a conduit of information.
  • Support team following serious incidents and with debriefs, local and after action review process and serious incident panels.

Additional Information

All external applicants are required to pay for their own DBS certification if a DBS check is required for the post; the method of payment is a salary deduction from your first monthly pay.

The Trust is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and has been rated as outstanding in the last two inspections.

Flexibility with working hours may be available whilst working with the demands of the service and can be discussed informally with Paul Wilson, Clinical Manager.
