Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Judicial College Planning and Operational Support leadership team. The role suits someone with operational and leadership experience who can manage a busy team that works closely with judiciary and College colleagues to deliver a challenging training programme. The Judicial College supports the Lady Chief Justice and the Senior President of Tribunals in providing training for the judiciary, ensuring that seminars are well‑organised and innovative digital systems support delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of operational staff at AO and EO grades who provide administrative support to organising and supporting magistrate training with a variety of delivery methods – digital, face‑to‑face and blended learning.
  • Ensure your team's assigned profile of magistrate training is delivered to schedule and properly resourced, including responsibility for the budget for your seminars.
  • Work with stakeholders (magistrate training teams, Judicial Office colleagues, Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service, Ministry of Justice) to plan, manage and monitor new and emerging training needs.
  • Manage the budget for your training events, reporting accurate forecasts and risk analysis to ensure value for money.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects and involve the team in the delivery of the Planning and Operational Support Team’s business plan.
  • Plan and arrange the training programme for future years, including the development of the online prospectus.
  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team to support the wider Planning and Operational Support team and build a resilient, adaptable team.
  • Partner with the College’s Judicial Education Team and Digital and Technical Team to implement and develop digital training delivery.

Salary & Benefits

National salary range: £35,335 – £37,847. London salary range: £40,014 – £42,859.

Location & Working Arrangements
