Qualifications

  • Ability and willing to swim and support others in our hydrotherapy pool.
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience.
  • Holder of a full, clean UK driving licence.

Overview

We are looking for a Team Leader in our The Green residential home, to join our friendly team within Ravenswood Village. The Green is a residential service that supports people with neurodevelopmental disabilities to live their best lives.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the delivery of care and support within the home to ensure high quality of service.
  • Lead and supervise support workers to ensure care is person-centred and information and advice are provided in an accessible way to enable informed decisions about care and support.
  • Involved in recruiting and training of support workers and assist the Home Manager in finances, rosters, reporting, maintenance and Health and Safety.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience in Care and Support of Adults with Learning Disabilities
  • Experience in person centred planning and risk assessment
  • Ability and willing to swim and support others in our hydrotherapy pool
  • QCF Level 3 or NVQ 3 or willingness to work towards a relevant care qualification

Founded in 1795, Norwood is the oldest Jewish charity in the UK that supports and empowers neurodiverse children, their families and adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities to live their best lives. Norwood has been privileged to receive Royal Patronage since 1815.

Norwood works with local authorities to deliver wide ranging services including residential and supported living accommodation, short break facilities as well as a range of support groups aimed at the whole family, not just the individual.

About The Green

The Green is a single level ground floor home. It consists of 13 self-contained flats surrounding a lush outdoor area. Inside is a central hub which includes a kitchen, lounge, dining area, laundry facilities and television areas. This building also houses the offices for the manager and staff.

The Green staff support 13 friendly and social residents with a wide range of interests. This includes volunteering at our on-site stables, going shopping, walking around Ravenswood village, pop music, cycling, music, TV, and films. The people we support communicate verbally, at different levels. Makaton, PECS and objects of reference are also used by some of the residents.
