Opportunitieshas arisen for a dynamic, extremely motivated, resourceful individual withestablished midwifery, and leadership experience to join our Maternity team.

Workingas part of the senior midwifery team, the post holder will contribute to thefuture development of the maternity service through participation ofdevelopment initiatives.

Main duties of the job

Asa Ward Manager, you will have excellent clinical and communication skills, anability to inspire and support staff and work in partnership with women,their relatives and the multi-disciplinary team in the assessment, planning,delivery and evaluation of seamless care. You will also involve otheragencies and practitioners in care planning to meet complex needs of womenand their babies.

Youwill be a role model and empowered to influence further developments inMidwifery and respond to National Maternity Transformation plans across theunit, acting as a liaison point and contributing to the continual developmentof maternity services. You will have a passion for developing staff andcreating a learning environment in your area and demonstrate exceptionalsituational leadership enabling and empowering your teams.

JOBPURPOSE

LTHTis made up of two large teaching hospitals and has an annual birth rate ofover 10,000. The post holder will workat both acute units and liaise with relevant health professionals within theTrust and primary care colleagues in Leeds.

Therole requires direct management of a team of midwives and maternity supportworkers.

Thejobholder is responsible for the ward/department clinical budget asdetermined by finance for each year.

TheJobholder will have responsibility for the effective and efficient managementof the maternity ward/department).They will provide clinical and professional management and leadershipfor the team. The jobholder is responsible for ensuring the assessment ofcare needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmesof care are maintained to a high standard.They will manage the administrative and financial aspects ofWard/department and ensuring cost effective use of resources,
