Team Leader – Compliance

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our Compliance Team. You will provide day‑to‑day leadership and operational management of a team of Compliance Officers to ensure that our service meets legislative requirements and delivers high‑quality inspections and outcomes based on key data and local intelligence.

What you’ll do
  • Lead, develop and manage a team of Compliance Officers, providing clear direction and support.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (Housing Act 2004 and Anti‑Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014), regulations and internal policies.
  • Deliver a programme of compliance inspections.
  • Provide authoritative advice, guidance and support to colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
  • Investigate escalated complaints and enquiries, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Represent the property licensing service internally and externally, building strong partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Support budget planning and ensure quality assurance of documents and decisions.
  • Remain vigilant to risks including fraud, safeguarding and safety concerns, making referrals where appropriate.
About you
  • Proven leadership and management experience within compliance regulation and enforcement.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks, particularly within the private rented sector.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to mentor, train and develop staff to achieve high performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage complex cases.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.
