A leading special education institution is seeking Teaching Assistants in Leatherhead to support learning for pupils with severe learning difficulties and autism. Woodlands School is an outstanding special school for pupils aged 2-19 years of age with severe or profound learning difficulties or an autistic spectrum disorder.
We are looking for Teaching Assistants to join the team at Woodlands School as part of a brand new, and very exciting venture - the opening of a satellite provision based at a welcoming and inclusive Primary school in Esher.
Our teaching assistants enjoy both supporting learning as part of a class team working under the direction of a class teacher and celebrating the achievement of pupils.
Previous experience of working with SEN pupils would be desirable.
The provision will cater for three classes of pupils who are autistic and have learning difficulties, offering them a safe, supportive and stimulating environment where they can thrive.
Staff working at the satellite will be part of the wider Woodlands School community, known for its high standards, strong ethos of teamwork, and specialist expertise in SEND education.
Initially the post will be for a fixed-term of 1 year, however it is likely that this will be extended dependent on funding.
