Teaching Assistant - Complex Learning Needs (SEND Schools)

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to work in specialist schools supporting children with complex learning needs.

These roles are available on both a long-term and day-to-day basis and involve supporting pupils who require a high level of care, structure, and individualised support.

The role will involve:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex learning needs
• Supporting children with ASD, PMLD, SLD, SEMH, and additional needs
• Assisting with personal care, moving and handling, and daily routines where required
• Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and positive behaviour strategies
• Working closely with teachers and multi-disciplinary teams

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working in SEND or specialist education settings
• Experience supporting children with complex needs and/or challenging behaviour
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Relevant training such as Team Teach, Moving & Handling, Personal Care, Trauma-Informed Practice, Tracheostomy care, or similar (highly desirable)
