PMLD Teaching Assistant - St Helens

Are you a compassionate, patient and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with complex needs? We're seeking a PMLD Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inspiring SEND team in St Helens.

The Role

As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties in their academic, social and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver individualised education and care plans.
  • Assist with communication aids, sensory activities, and physical care routines.
  • Create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence and wellbeing.
  • Use creativity and empathy to help each child reach their potential.
About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in working with children or young people with complex or medical needs (school or care background welcomed).
  • Nurturing, patient and resilient, with a calm and positive attitude.
  • Comfortable supporting personal care and mobility needs (training provided).
  • Passionate about helping children achieve, no matter their starting point.
