The Opportunity

Long Term Futures are seeking a nurturing and proactive EYFS Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a primary school within the Enfield area. This role is perfect for someone passionate about early childhood development and helping young learners build strong foundations in communication, play, social skills, and early literacy and numeracy. You'll be joining a warm, supportive EYFS team committed to creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Support children across Nursery/Reception with both structured activities and free‑flow learning
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils, including those with early SEND needs
  • Assist with phonics, early literacy, early numeracy, and play‑based activities
  • Help create a nurturing, inclusive, and well‑organised classroom environment
  • Encourage children’s personal, social, and emotional development through positive interaction
  • Observe, record, and report on pupils’ progress to support early assessments
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and EYFS staff to support children’s development and wellbeing
Requirements
  • Experience working within an EYFS or early childhood setting
  • Strong understanding of EYFS frameworks and child development
  • Warm, patient, and nurturing approach with young children
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Understanding of Safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
