Overview

New College Durham Academies Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join Pelton Community Primary School in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Responsibilities
  • Support learning for youngest learners in Early Years, including those with Special Educational Needs, enabling access to the curriculum and participation in learning.
  • Work with individuals and small groups; promote independence and inclusion; contribute to a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment that supports learning and personal development.
  • Assist with assessment and planning; support behaviour management in line with school policies; provide additional SEN support as needed to ensure every child is included and supported.
Qualifications
  • Relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or willingness to work towards this).
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths essential.
  • Experience of working with young children; experience of supporting children with SEN desirable.
