Can you juggle red kites with equivalent fractions, or leap from stag beetles to subordinate clauses? Our ARP provision means we have a higher proportion than most schools of children with autism and other special needs, and it adds to the richness of what we do, as well as bringing some interesting tangents to our conversations!
We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant to join our team to support our pupils across the school. This is a permanent position, to start as soon as possible, from Monday to Friday (8.30 am‑3:30 pm) term time only.
We are a two‑form entry Junior School in the village of Flackwell Heath on a linking site to the Infant School. Our school benefits from friendly, happy, motivated children and staff team, and is well supported by parents/carers and governors. Our school has an 8 place ARP for pupils with ASD. Our school has an active extra‑curricular offer, with sports, music, learning and drama clubs taking place most days before and after school.
Carrington Junior School is a dynamic place to work with lots going on and a supportive staff team. Our recent Ofsted (October 2024) stated, “The ‘Carrington Way’ guidance for staff makes it clear how pupils’ knowledge and skills in each subject should develop over time…..This guidance helps with their workload and well‑being”.
We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and committed person with an enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude to join our Teaching Assistant team. The role involves individual and group working across the school, including the possibility of working within our ARP, as well as general support in the classroom.
