Teaching Assistant

Location: Barry

Start Date: Immediate

Salary: £80 - £95 per day

The School endeavors to develop a culture where the children believe in themselves and each other, taking risks and stepping out of their comfort zone. They strive to teach each child to be resourceful, resilient, and reflective, always looking for ways to improve and learn even more.

The Primary School is looking to take on an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant on a temporary basis leading to a potential long-term position for the right candidate. The successful candidate will be working with children that have additional learning needs and therefore will need to be adaptable in their strategies and methods, ensuring they are fully supporting the children they are working with. The candidate will need to have previous experience working with additional learning needs such as autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour on either a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

The successful Teaching Assistant / TA will have:

  1. Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant / TA qualification or at least 6 months experience working within a classroom setting
  2. Experience working one-to-one with pupils with Additional Learning Needs / ALN
  3. TEAM Teach qualification is advantageous but not required
  4. A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
  5. Excellent communication skills
