Overview

Advertisement: Teaching Assistant (Full-time)

Location: Northfield, Birmingham (B31 area)

Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored, one-to-one or small‑group support to pupils with a range of SEND needs, including those with MSI, ASD, PMLD, PD, and SLD.
  • Adapt resources and learning environments to enhance communication, mobility, sensory access, and engagement.
  • Contribute to personal care support, preserving dignity and encouraging independence.
  • Collaborate in planning and delivering targeted interventions, based on Individual Education Plan (IEP) outcomes and the multi‑sensory curriculum domains.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary professionals—including therapy and healthcare teams—to deliver holistic, collaborative support.
What We're Looking For
  • Have direct experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly in areas such as MSI, ASD, PMLD, PD, or SLD.
  • Exhibit patience, empathy, and sensitivity towards complex sensory and communication needs.
  • Are confident working within individualised learning settings, showing flexibility and a creative mindset.
  • Communicate effectively across educational and therapeutic contexts.
  • Thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside teachers, therapists, nurses, and support staff.
  • Possess relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, Level 2/3 TA, or equivalent)—though enthusiasm and experience are highly valued.
