Contract type: Temporary, long term – permanent for the right candidate

At GSL Education we are supporting a SEN school in Newton Abbot who are seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team on a flexible, part time basis.

Every child has a high level of support, often including one-to-one support andbespoke timetables following thematic learning experiences. A wide range ofpersonalised learning in and out of the classroom is designed to engage thestudent,build resilience and provide the foundation for rapid academic progress.

These roles are tough, the children present very challenging behaviour and you will need to be resilient and committed to this role.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have UK experience working with Special needs children
  • Feel comfortable working in challenging 1:1 environments
  • Be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who leads by example.
  • Have strong behaviour management.
    • Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills with all individuals. This includes pupils, colleagues and parents.
