Position: Teaching Assistant

Location: Haywards Heath

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm)

About the Role:
Randstad Education is looking for an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a strong background in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This full-time position involves working closely with both teachers and SEN pupils to create an inclusive, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN

  • Assist in planning and delivering tailored learning activities

  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive engagement

  • Support pupils with personal care and emotional regulation, if required

  • Liaise with SENCOs, teachers, and parents to track progress

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language needs)

  • A positive, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • An enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)

  • Relevant TA qualifications or training are desirable but not essential
