Mainstream Primary School – Euxton (PR7)
Start Date: February 2026
Contract: Fixed Term (Full Academic Year)
Hours: Part time (16 – 20 hours per week) (Term Time Only)
Pay: £13.75 per hour (paid weekly)

The Head Teacher of a mainstream primary school in Euxton (PR7) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from February 2026. This is a term-time-only position supporting pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to support the learning and development of pupils across various subjects and activities. You will assist both individual children and small groups, helping to close gaps in learning and promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

You will be an important part of a nurturing school community where every child’s progress is recognised and encouraged.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils’ learning across a range of curriculum areas in EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2
  • Assist class teachers with the delivery of lessons and learning activities
  • Provide individual or small group support tailored to pupils’ needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour and build positive relationships with pupils
  • Help monitor and report on pupil progress and engagement
  • Support a calm, purposeful, and inclusive learning environment
Essential Requirements
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – training available for anyone without this qualification
  • Experience working in a UK mainstream classroom environment is essential
  • Patience, positivity, and a nurturing approach to support learning and behaviour
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
