About the Role

APT Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced KS1 Teaching Assistant to support a vibrant primary school in Birmingham. This full-time role begins in January 2026 and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners through tailored support and intervention.

You’ll work closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences, including:

  • 1 : 1 support for pupils with additional needs
  • Small group interventions focused on literacy and numeracy
  • Phonics delivery using recognised schemes (Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds, etc.)
About You

We’re looking for a confident, proactive TA with:

  • Recent experience in a UK primary school (KS1 essential)
  • Strong understanding of phonics and early literacy development
  • Ability to support pupils with varying needs in a nurturing, inclusive way
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • A valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
