Job Title: Teacher of Spanish (with some French)
Location: Derby
Salary: MPS / UPS (Pro Rata)
Job Type: Part-Time Maternity cover contract until April 2027
Start Date: Easter 2026
Contract End Date: 30 April 2027 (Approximate)
Working Pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday
Reports To: Curriculum Co-ordinator - Languages

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Spanish (with the ability to teach some French at KS3) to join a supportive and forward‑thinking educational organisation on a part‑time maternity cover contract.

This role is ideal for a well‑qualified linguist who is passionate about language learning and committed to inspiring students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a key role in delivering engaging, high‑quality language education while supporting curriculum development within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Spanish at GCSE level and French at Key Stage 3
  • Deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons that inspire and challenge learners
  • Contribute to the development and review of the Spanish curriculum and schemes of work
  • Maintain accurate student records and report on progress and attainment
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment
  • Represent the Languages department at meetings as required
  • Participate in extra‑curricular activities, revision sessions, displays, and events
  • Promote achievement and positive outcomes across the Languages curriculum
  • Work in line with organisational policies and professional standards
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection responsibilities at all times
