An esteemed educational institution in London is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Science to inspire students and secure exceptional academic outcomes. This role requires a passionate educator capable of teaching across multiple key stages and contributing to a collaborative team. The school prides itself on providing an excellent working environment, focusing on minimizing distractions and maximizing student engagement. Interested candidates should contact via email for inquiries or visits.
As a voluntary-aided school of over 2,000 students including a thriving Sixth Form of over 500 students, JFS is one of the top schools in the country for both attainment and progress, but more importantly, a place where we hope children grow into excellent adults prepared for everything ahead of them. Named one of the top-performing state schools of the year in the Sunday Times rankings as well as achieving a Progress 8 score of +1.16, we are proud of our results, but recognise that they only form a small part of what schools should aim to achieve.
In looking for a teacher to join our school, we are seeking someone who is a fantastic classroom practitioner and motivated by developing both children and adults. Our wish to build a truly exceptional school is founded upon building an enthusiastic, caring and talented staff and nothing is more important to us than the people we work with. By way of support for anyone who joins us, you will be led by a superb Subject Leader in a well-resourced and highly capable department.
We are keen to appoint a Teacher of Science who is committed to inspiring a love of the subject and securing excellent outcomes for students across Key Stages 3 to 5. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach their specialism to a high standard while also contributing across the wider Science curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity to join a large and collaborative department with excellent facilities, a strong culture of teamwork, and a clear focus on both academic rigour and the development of scientific curiosity. A passion for practical work, adaptability in the classroom, and high expectations for all students will be central to success in this role.
Beyond departmental support, the school does everything it can to minimise distractions and staff are never expected to run detentions, meetings are kept to a minimum and duties are extremely limited. Our aim is always to allow people to focus on the core aspects of their role. Classes are calm and purposeful and our students are eager to succeed. Alongside strong lessons, our students also receive high-quality pastoral care across the board. We have a team of 17 full-time professionals coordinating our provision and, at a time when external services are so hard to access, we are proud of the support we are able to give in school. JFS is a school where relationships matter, where warmth and laughter are possible because boundaries are clear and where our teachers hold higher expectations for our students than they might hold for themselves.
We believe that JFS is an excellent place to work and develop but you should not just take us at our word. If you have any questions at all then please do contact me directly using david.moody@jfs.brent.sch.uk and I will be happy to organise a visit for you or answer any questions that you may have. Nothing is more important to us than finding like-minded people to join us and so please do get in touch.
