Teacher of Philosophy & Religious Studies

Start Date: April 2025
Tenure: Permanent, Full-time / Part-time (minimum 3 days)
Salary: Competitive - based on the Surbiton High School Pay Scale

About the Role

You will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons that challenge pupils to think critically, explore diverse perspectives, and develop a deep understanding of philosophical and ethical ideas. Working closely with the Head of Department, you'll contribute to an environment that values innovation, reflective teaching, and academic excellence.

What We're Looking For
  • A good honours degree (QTS desirable but not essential)
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach KS3, GCSE and A-level
  • A passion for inspiring pupils and delivering high-quality lessons
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A collaborative, positive and flexible approach
  • ECTs are warmly welcomed – we are an ECT training school with a robust mentoring system
