Overview

Exeter School is the leading co‑educational day school in the Southwest, educating over 1,000 pupils aged 3‑18. The school is looking to appoint a part‑time teacher of music (Musicianship) to teach in this thriving department.

Responsibilities
  • Teach small groups of senior school pupils, predominantly from the Scholar cohort.
  • Work across the senior school, with an allocation of one period per week for the 2025‑26 academic year.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Strong instrumental ability.
  • Appropriate music‑related qualifications and solid understanding of music theory.
  • Well‑developed subject knowledge and confidence to teach effectively across relevant musical disciplines.
Facilities & Performance Opportunities

Our music department boasts specialist classrooms, 18 practice rooms, a concert hall, and a rich annual programme of contemporary and classical concerts. Pupils experience the thrill of live performance, including performances at Exeter Cathedral and local churches, with over 20 concerts per year.
