Role Overview

Taunton School is seeking an enthusiastic Modern Foreign Language teacher to lead French, German and Spanish instruction for Years 7‑13. The successful candidate will deliver A‑Level and IB Diploma Programme lessons and contribute to a dynamic, high‑standard department.

Responsibilities

• Teach modern foreign languages across the senior school (Years 9‑13) and preparatory years (Years 7‑8).
• Deliver A‑Level and IB Diploma Programme lessons to the highest standard.
• Co‑develop curriculum, assessment and innovative teaching methods with the department.
• Assess students, provide formative and summative feedback and support pupil development.
• Engage with technology, digital resources and best practice in language teaching.
• Support pastoral and school life, embodying the Taunton School ethos of shared responsibility.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Modern Foreign Languages or related discipline.
• Experience teaching two of the three languages (French, German, Spanish) to A‑Level and IB Diploma standard.
• IB Diploma Programme teaching experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Experience teaching at senior school level (Years 9‑13) desirable.
• Early career teachers are supported through a comprehensive induction programme.
