Teacher of English - September 2026 | 'Outstanding' Secondary School | Merton

Job Overview

In the heart of Merton an 'Outstanding' Secondary School are on the hunt for a Teacher of English for an ASAP or September 2026 start. This is a permanent, full‑time contract. The Head Teacher is looking for an ambitious Teacher of English who is keen to add value to an expanding English Department. The school is renowned for its supportive SLT and impressive Progress 8 results across all subjects.

The school is well invested in the education sector, setting new teaching practices and training both its own and new staff. It is an exciting time at the school!

Experienced English teachers can take on TLR roles such as KS3 Coordinator and Pastoral Responsibility. Early Career Teachers (ECT) will be enrolled into the school’s bespoke ECT induction, working alongside a range of young & experienced teachers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach English to students.
