About the role

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and progressive Class Teacher who will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to a diverse group of students. You will work collaboratively with our dedicated staff to create an inclusive environment that meets the needs of all learners. We are looking for someone who:

  • Has Qualified Teacher Status
  • Is dedicated to our vision that all children are entitled to a first-class education
  • Has experience of promoting positive behaviour conducive to learning and which is focused on raising standards
  • Possesses a genuine belief that all children are equal and celebrates the diversity in our school communities

All staff are expected to know what to do if they have concerns about a child, take on the responsibility for providing a safe environment and promoting children's welfare, undertake regular safeguarding and child protection training and familiarise themselves with KCSIE Part 1 and local policies and procedures as directed by the trust/academy.

About us

Blue Coat is a successful and oversubscribed school in the heart of Coventry. As a Christian school, our intake draws from the local area and across the city and surrounding areas. We have a diverse intake and a culturally thriving school. The school was graded 'Outstanding' in its SIAMS inspection and 'Good' by Ofsted in May 2023 and continues to perform exceptionally well academically. In 2023 our Attainment 8 at GCSE was 52.3 and our Progress 8 score was +0.42, both above national averages. The majority of our students stay on into the sixth form, and we have a large and successful Post 16 provision with ~350 pupils studying A levels or Vocational Level 3 courses. We have excellent rates of progression to universities, apprenticeships and employment. Ofsted inspected us in May 2023 and judged us a Good School, with Outstanding for Personal Development, The Sixth Form and Leadership and Management. Staff are very proud to work at the school and report strong leadership and training support.
