SYSTEMS/LAN ADMINISTRATOR

Job Location: OMS-PC LAN SOUTH 2082 E US Hwy 70, Safford, AZ 85546.

Posting Details: Salary: $61,500 - $71,500 Anticipated Salary: $66,500.00 Grade: 23 Closing Date: 12/15/2025

Job Summary

Responds promptly to customer needs submitted by the service desk, customer, and/or outside stakeholder. Analyzing problems, developing solutions, and implementing them effectively. Takes a customer‑centric approach to problem solving. Works on projects as assigned to meet the commitments of the agency.

Job Duties

Processes, documents, and coordinates resolution of trouble calls with all other IT entities and customers. Travels throughout the State to perform duties as needed. Supporting local and/or off‑site events for the Agency. Maintains accurate records of repairs using current ticketing system. Installing, configuring, and repairing hardware and software components, including peripherals.

Works in conjunction with the agency hardware, software and security teams to ensure compliance with statewide standards and documentation. Maintain Agency wide yearly educational compliance through ADOT's Learning program.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)

Knowledge of:

  • General working knowledge of infrastructure technologies.
  • Various software applications, their functionalities, and how to troubleshoot common software problems.

Skill in:

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Linear troubleshooting skills.
  • Google Workspace.

Ability to:

  • Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
  • Work collaboratively in teams and across organizations.
  • Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Build strong relationships inside and outside the organization.
Selective Preference(s)
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 or more years of experience in IT related field.
  • Certifications: Microsoft, A+, Server+, Network+, CompTIA.
  • Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Certification.
Pre-Employment Requirements

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class‑appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2‑10‑207.11).

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E‑Verify).
