Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent) in sustainability, environmental science, geography, economics, data, or related fields.
  • Strong data analysis skills with confidence in Excel and large datasets.
  • Knowledge or experience of sustainability/ESG topics such as climate change, biodiversity, or carbon management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling data.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work with different stakeholders.
  • Passion for sustainability and eagerness to drive positive change.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and manage sustainability and carbon data from NHBC and suppliers.
  • Analyse large datasets to identify trends supporting our net-zero strategy.
  • Upload and maintain accurate carbon data in our carbon accounting software.
  • Support internal and external sustainability reporting.
  • Work with suppliers to improve quality of sustainability data.
  • Help embed sustainability into NHBC’s processes.

Job role: Sustainability Analyst

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 + 6% performance bonus

Working location: Hybrid, 2 days a week in our Milton Keynes office

Employment type: Full time, Permanent

Job summary:

Join NHBC as we take bold steps on our Net Zero journey. As a Sustainability Analyst, you’ll play a vital role in shaping our environmental strategy by gathering, analysing, and improving sustainability and ESG data across the organisation and our supply chain. This role is perfect for someone passionate about climate change, sustainability, and data who wants to make a real impact in a business that shapes the future of housebuilding.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collecting and managing sustainability and carbon data from across NHBC and our suppliers
  • Analysing large datasets to identify trends and provide insights that support our net-zero strategy
  • Uploading and maintaining accurate carbon data within our carbon accounting software
  • Supporting internal and external sustainability reporting (e.g. TCFD, CDP, Planet Mark)
  • Working with suppliers to improve the quality of sustainability data and support their net-zero journeys
  • Helping to embed sustainability into NHBC’s processes and drive data improvement projects

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in sustainability, environmental science, geography, economics, data, or related fields
  • Strong data analysis skills with confidence in Excel and large datasets
  • Some knowledge or experience of sustainability/ESG topics such as climate change, biodiversity, or carbon management
