An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Surgical Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established practice in Durham. This role is perfect for a vet who thrives on taking the lead with surgical cases and feels confident handling non‑routine surgeries. The position offers the chance to take ownership of a varied surgical caseload in a modern, well‑equipped branch located close to the town centre.
The practice boasts excellent facilities, including dedicated wards, a spacious waiting room, and a large preparation area with a separate imaging suite. A dedicated cat entrance, waiting room, and hospital ward demonstrate the practice's commitment to feline care, as they work towards becoming an ISFM‑accredited Cat Friendly is outfitted with cutting‑edge equipment, including digital and dental x‑ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, a physiotherapy laser, and in‑house haematology and biochemistry machines.
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS‑registered Veterinary Surgeon, skilled at delivering exceptional patient and client care, and experienced in working as part of a collaborative team. Strong clinical leadership skills are essential, as you will be responsible for mentoring and developing your team while fostering a progressive clinical culture. Experience with nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures is also valued, as it contributes to the clinic's overall performance and efficiency.
