Job description
Overview

Our supported living service offers a unique setting for young adults transitioning from their family home, educational or children's services for the first time — providing all the support and skills needed to gain independence, take responsibility and work towards their own unique goals for the future. The young people who live here enjoy space and privacy, with communal areas to learn daily living skills, plan and cook meals together, or socialise.

Responsibilities

From ensuring the service runs smoothly and achieves quality excellence, to encouraging personal growth and development of the team, every day is unique. Through leadership and support, our Service Managers make a difference to their colleagues’ lives and to the people we support, and are an integral part of ensuring everyone at Consensus has the opportunity to flourish.

  • Enable the people we support to lead a fulfilling life and maximise their independence to achieve their full potential.
  • Prioritise the wellbeing of the team and provide the tools and opportunities they need to excel in their current role and future career.
  • Operate the service efficiently and responsibly, balancing budget achievement with the ethos of high quality.
  • Effectively manage financial performance with resources appropriately managed and controlled.
  • Promote quality assurance, meeting legal, clinical, statutory, and organisational obligations, and develop effective work strategies and processes.
  • Ensure full and accurate reporting of management information to maximise quality and compliance.
  • Ensure the role is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Qualifications
  • Have plenty of experience working with those with learning disabilities or complex behaviours.
  • Be a Deputy Manager ready for the next step, or an experienced Service Manager looking for a new challenge, with a background in Supported Living or Residential Services.
  • Have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care; support and training towards Level 4 and 5 is available. RNLD/RMN is desirable.
  • Bring strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be confident, flexible and efficient — happy to work on a shift basis and, where required, be on call.
  • Be committed to providing person-centred care that provides equitable opportunities to all those you’re working for.
