A community support organization in the UK is seeking a personal assistant to provide essential support for a 29-year-old male with various disabilities. The role involves assisting with mobility, personal care, and community participation, while also promoting independence. Ideal candidates should have care experience and a good understanding of disability issues. This is a flexible role, typically requiring 5 hours a day from Monday to Friday.
Day and Time– Typically 5 hrs a day, Monday–Friday but hours may be adapted flexibly depending on SP’s needs.
1-1 support for SP, a 29-year-old male with Cerebral Palsy, Sensory Processing Disorder, Dyslexia, Clinical Anxiety & Depression. SP is wheelchair user and support is required to promote independence, wellbeing and meaningful community participation. SP is looking for a PA who is laid-back, calm, and a good personality match—someone who will take the time to get to know him, understand what is important to him, and fit well within his family dynamic. Some of the activities SP enjoys include going to the cinema, bowling, looking around the shops and trips to the park.
Essential: care experience, understanding of disability & anxiety, good communication, reliability, and confidence supporting wheelchair mobility.
Desirable: community support experience & PBS awareness.
