A leading alternative schooling provision in London is seeking a Support Worker to assist young adults with special educational needs, including mental health and complex needs. The role involves creative support in academic and social settings, while contributing to individualized care plans. Ideal candidates should have experience with young people in various support settings and a commitment to safeguarding.
Job Title: Support Worker Learning Disabilities and Mental Health
This is an Alternative Schooling Provision catering to young adults aged 5-19 with various SEN, including Mental Health, Complex Needs, and Autism.
Your role will involve supporting the class teacher, support staff, and multi-agency teams to devise learning and care plans, and to encourage the child/young person to reach their full potential.
You will be required to set clear boundaries and manage triggers of challenging behaviour while supporting the child academically, emotionally, and socially.
Children at this school have multiple complex and sensory needs. Support workers looking to be trained as Teaching Assistants/Cover Supervisors are encouraged to apply.
