Hiring: Support Worker – Children’s Residential Care

RADAAS Ltd is recruiting dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join Smoothstone Care & Education, providing high-quality residential care to young people. This role is ideal for individuals committed to safeguarding, emotional development, and delivering consistent support within a therapeutic environment.

📍 Location: Residential Children’s Home

💼 Role Type: Full-time

🛂 Compliance: Enhanced DBS + mandatory training

🎓 Training: Diploma Level 3 (or willingness to work toward completion)

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and stable home for young people. You will work as part of a team to promote emotional wellbeing, independence, and personal development while ensuring all care meets organisational and statutory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Supporting Young People
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people to enhance their sense of security.
  • Safeguard and promote welfare at all times.
  • Encourage healthy lifestyles, education, vocational progress, and positive routines.
  • Provide consistent boundaries and follow agreed behaviour support strategies.
  • Support young people during admission, daily routines, and the process of leaving care.
  • Participate in activities, group events, and assist with meal preparation.
  • Promote independence and help develop social, emotional, and life skills.
Team & Professional Duties
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, carers, social workers, and external agencies.
  • Assist in implementing, reviewing, and updating care plans for each young person.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervision, appraisals, and contribute to the home’s development.
  • Support new staff as part of their induction.
  • Undertake mandatory training and progress toward Diploma Level.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate daily records, incident logs, progress reports, and care files.
  • Manage petty cash and follow financial procedures.
  • Adhere to all organisational guidelines, policies, and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Comply with Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
