Job summary

A community support organization in Gateshead is seeking compassionate individuals to provide practical assistance and emotional support to people with learning disabilities and complex care needs. Your role will involve promoting well-being and dignity while performing general housekeeping and personal care tasks. Candidates should be enthusiastic and committed to supporting individuals in line with their support plans. Full training will be provided, and experience in the field is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience with learning disabilities and/or complex care preferred.
  • Willingness to complete records and documents.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical assistance and emotional support to individuals.

The role

Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.

Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.

General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.

As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.

Each person we support has 1 to 1 support.

Lone working and team-working.

About you

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting people in a way which respects their dignity?

Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities and/or complex care is preferred but all training will be provided.
