Qualifications

The Foyer on the Isle of Wight provides young people who are facing homelessness with a safe place to live, learn and make the transition to independent adulthood.

We have an opportunity for a Support Worker to join the team on a full time permanent basis.

The starting salary is £24,493 - £27,000 depending on experience.

The role

You'll be working within a skilled team providing housing related support to young people aged 16-30. We work in partnership with our young people to help them navigate and choose options around housing, education, and employment while respecting their right to choice and control in their decisions.

The support worker role covers a rolling rota pattern with some requirement for evening and weekend working.

We are looking for:
  • Experience of working in a support role with young people
  • An awareness of psychological informed environments and trauma informed practice
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment with excellent organisational skills
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining working relationships
  • The ability to prioritise and manage your own workload effectively.
  • Strong administrative skills
  • A willingness to learn and develop

An enhanced DBS checks will be undertaken for the successful candidate.
