Support Worker

Location: Falkirk

Contract Type: Permanent - Part Time

Salary: £12.84 per hour

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you'll be part of a dedicated team providing safe, secure, and supported accommodation for people experiencing homelessness. You'll offer both practical and emotional support to help individuals build confidence, independence, and stability in their lives.

You’ll work various shift patterns, including some weekends, on a 4‑week rolling rota. The organisation offers a supportive and inclusive environment where your commitment and compassion make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, person‑centred support tailored to each individual's needs and aspirations.
  • Build positive, empowering relationships that promote wellbeing and independence.
  • Use case management systems to monitor, review, and evaluate progress toward personal goals.
  • Facilitate key work sessions, reviews, and meetings in line with individual support plans.
  • Provide advocacy, advice, and practical assistance to help individuals sustain accommodation and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies to maximise opportunities and support pathways.
  • Manage a personal caseload while contributing to the wider team's success.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with data protection requirements.
  • Uphold a safe environment through regular risk assessments and health & safety checks.
  • Support individuals with tenancy management, budgeting, and accessing community services.
  • Play an active role in service improvement, team learning, and continuous development.
About You

The successful candidate, will need to have a genuine passion for helping people and a commitment to empowering others to reach their goals.

Essential Skills and Attributes
  • A caring, empathetic, and person‑centred approach.
  • Awareness of the challenges linked to homelessness, trauma, and complex needs.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently, including lone working.
  • Basic IT literacy and accurate record‑keeping skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work towards SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting people with addiction issues, homelessness, or mental health challenges.
  • Understanding of trauma‑informed and recovery‑focused approaches.
  • Experience promoting inclusion, resilience, and independence.
  • HNC or SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Social Services and Healthcare.
