Job summary

A nonprofit provider of support services in the UK is seeking a Support Worker in Boston and Spalding. In this role, you will help customers with disabilities to live independently by providing personal care, medication support, and engaging them in social activities. The position offers flexible hours, comprehensive training, and opportunities for career advancement. A valid UK driving license is required to assist customers with mobility. You will work a total of 22.5 contracted hours per week, predominantly on weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

  • No previous experience is necessary but values and passion are important.
  • Must have a full UK driving licence to support customer mobility.
  • Available for shifts every other weekend and between 7am and 10:30pm.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care and hygiene.
  • Administer medication as required.
  • Support with cooking and preparing meals.
  • Accompany customers to medical appointments.
  • Engage in social activities with customers.
  • Assist with independent skills and domestic duties.
  • Maintain accurate records and care plans.

Location: Boston PE21 & Spalding PE11
Hours: 22.5 contracted hours per week (Mon‑Sun, including weekends, days, evenings, holidays and sleep in’s. especially available on a Tuesday & Wednesday for Spalding area)
Salary: £14,418.01 per annum (£12.29 p/h)

Day to Day Activities
  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required)
  • Medication administration (if required)
  • Support with preparing and cooking meals
  • Support with attending medical appointments
  • Support with social activities
  • Support with independent skills
  • Support with domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry
  • Keeping accurate records and updating care plans as required
  • Keeping up to date with your training
About the candidate

You don’t need to have previous experience working in care or support to be successful in this role. What matters are your values, your passion and determination to make a difference in the lives of people with autism or learning disabilities.

  • Good at working on your own and within a team
  • Excellent at communicating with people
  • Able to complete quality support records
  • Able to work every other weekends
  • Able to work between 7am and 10:30pm
  • Ability to follow a Support Plan and Risk Assessments and maintain customer records
  • Need to be literate and numerate in English
  • Willingness and ability to achieve the Care Certificate
