Overview

Job Title: Support Worker. Reports To: Director. As a Support Worker in our HMO (House in Multiple Occupation) properties, you will play a crucial role in providing practical and emotional support to residents, helping them to live as independently as possible. You will work closely with individuals who may have diverse needs, including mental health issues, learning disabilities, or other vulnerabilities. Your aim is to empower residents, promote their well-being, and ensure a safe and supportive living environment.


Responsibilities


  • Provide one-on-one support to residents, tailored to their individual needs and support plans.

  • Assist residents with daily living skills, such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene.

  • Support residents in accessing healthcare, employment, education, and other community resources.

  • Help residents manage their medication and attend medical appointments.

  • Monitor residents\' well-being and report any concerns or changes in their condition.

  • Promote social inclusion and encourage residents to participate in activities and events.

  • Maintain accurate records of support provided and resident progress.

  • Work collaboratively with other support staff, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.

  • Ensure the safety and security of the HMO property and its residents.


Qualifications


  • Previous experience in a support role, preferably working with vulnerable adults.

  • Understanding the needs of individuals with mental health issues, learning disabilities, or other support needs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
