Job summary

A prominent health board in Wales is seeking a Support Medical Secretary for its A&E Department in Merthyr Tydfil. The role requires providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to medical professionals while managing a diverse workload. Applicants with RSA/OCR or equivalent qualifications and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred. Previous NHS or medical secretary experience is advantageous. This position offers a salary range of £25,313 to £26,999 pro rata, along with a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

Support Medical Secretary, A&E Department

The closing date is 30 December 2025

The post holder will provide a comprehensive and high quality secretarial and administrative support to the Consultants, Nurses and other professionals within the identified department.

The post holder will also be expected to liaise in a professional manner with colleagues, visitors and patients and undertake a wide spectrum of administrative and secretarial duties.

The post holder will be expected to manage and prioritise their own workload using experience and initiative, and adhere to relevant CTMUHB policies and procedures.
