Overview

We're working with a successful and innovative client that designs and manufactures high-tech equipment for global export. With their UK head office and international offices overseas, this company continues to grow and is now looking to add a Purchasing Administrator to their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive business where you'll play a key role in ensuring materials and components are delivered on time, to budget, and in line with production needs.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the purchasing of materials from approved suppliers, securing the best commercial terms and delivery schedules.
  • Monitoring supply and demand schedules, progressing purchase orders, and updating the ERP system.
  • Running reports to track delivery backlogs and material shortages, working closely with internal teams to update production schedules.
  • Building supplier relationships to drive on-time delivery and performance improvements.
  • Generating works orders and managing production bills of materials.
  • Handling non-conformance activities with vendors, supporting corrective/preventative actions, and tracking supplier performance.
  • Maintaining the ERP system daily, ensuring timely component availability for production.
  • Preparing and submitting supplier quotations for cost-saving and consolidation exercises.
Experience
  • Previous experience in a purchasing or supply chain administration role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Confident user of ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills - able to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • A proactive team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
