Overview

Owen Daniels are supporting a leading Engineering business in recruiting for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join the business on a full-time basis.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Senior Supplier / Front End Quality Engineer to join a high-performing Customer Quality / Customer Advocate function within a globally operating advanced engineering business.

This is a highly visible role reporting into senior quality leadership, where you will play a critical part in driving supply chain quality, supplier performance and right-first-time culture across a complex and demanding manufacturing environment. You\'ll work closely with Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing and a diverse supplier base to ensure materials, components and services consistently meet ISO9001 requirements, regulatory standards and best-practice quality expectations. Responsibilities
  • Partner with Engineering and Materials teams to evaluate and approve new suppliers, ensuring capability, compliance and robustness of processes
  • Monitor, analyse and report supplier performance using quality dashboards and defined KPIs, providing clear internal and external feedback
  • Lead monthly supplier development reviews, focusing on underperforming suppliers and driving corrective and preventive action plans
  • Champion a right-first-time and continuous improvement culture across the supply chain
  • Support effective root cause analysis and CAPA for non-conformances, rejects and customer issues
  • Design and deliver a supplier audit programme, identifying risks and improvement opportunities
  • Maintain accurate supplier quality documentation within the Quality Management System
About You

You\'ll be a confident quality professional with strong technical credibility and the ability to influence at all levels.

Essential
  • Degree or HND in an Engineering discipline
  • Extensive experience working within an ISO9001 Quality Management System
  • Proven background in supplier development and supplier quality engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience conducting internal and supplier audits
  • Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with suppliers and senior stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience with quality and improvement tools (e.g. PDCA, FMEA, 5 Whys, Pareto, Ishikawa)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Desirable
  • Experience with ERP systems and statistical tools
  • Knowledge of ISO14001 and/or ISO17025
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronic or software-based products
