Job description
Overview

Service Care Solutions are working alongside a reputable community support service who are looking for dedicated Substance Misuse Nurses to cover ad-hoc shifts.

Role: Substance Misuse Nurse
Location: Manchester
Working: On-site
Salary: £26 to £35 (PAYE exc.) per hour / £30 to £40 per hour umbrella (qualification, experience, and shift dependant)

Responsibilities
  • Administering clinical procedures within scope of practice (e.g., ECGs, phlebotomy, BBV testing, vaccinations, Pabrinex injections).
  • Supporting pharmacological and psychosocial interventions, including assessments, care planning, 1:1 and group sessions.
  • Managing a complex caseload and conducting physical dependency assessments using withdrawal scales.
  • Completing clinical risk and needs assessments and implementing management plans.
  • Reporting incidents via Datix and contributing to service user mortality reviews and incident trend analysis.
  • Participating in clinical audits, medicine optimisation, and promoting cost-effective practices.
  • Using data to inform harm reduction strategies and meet clinical KPIs.
  • Maintaining accurate records and adhering to information governance, confidentiality, and health & safety standards.
  • Upholding NMC professional standards at all times.
