Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Long Lartin, a category A Prison located in Littleton. HMP Long Lartin is a male prison serving life sentences with a capacity for 690 inmates. Driving may be required due to location.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week3 days a week07:30am-20:00pm

Salary: This position is full time; you’ll receive an annual salary between £33,232.10 - £40,211 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning.
  • Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both group and 1-1 settings.
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review recovery plans and communicate the full range of treatment options to service users.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers.
  • Support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions.
  • Understand and commit to recovery and a person-centred approach.
