An engineering consultancy in the UK is seeking a Submarine Safety Engineering Consultant to provide technical safety support for submarine projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in submarine operations and safety management, with excellent communication skills. This position offers part-time, job-share, or full-time options, with opportunities for flexible working arrangements and professional development.

As a Submarine Safety Engineering Consultant, you will provide technical safety support, and subject matter advice, to a wide and varied number of current and future submarine and underwater system related projects, directly supporting the UK submarine community. Your knowledge and experience of submarine operations, and equipment (including maintenance and repair processes and procedures) will allow you to support the delivery of safety projects to schedule, quality and budget, to meet the requirements of our clients; UK legislation; and associated regulations, standards, and policies. In terms of location, we have offices across the UK and we are happy to explore flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Please note that travel to client sites or to attend meetings will be required. This role is available part-time, job-share or full time.
This role would suit an ex-Submariner looking to progress into a career in safety engineering. You will ideally have experience of the operation and / or maintenance of Royal Navy (RN) submarines and equipment, and preferably (but not essential) knowledge of appropriate technical documentation and an understanding of safety requirements.
