Your new role

Our client is seeking a Subcontractor Quantity Surveyor with experience in passive fire protection or related trades. The successful candidate will manage all commercial aspects of subcontractor packages, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standard. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of projects, liaising closely with site teams, clients, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, tendering, and negotiations
  • Preparing, reviewing, and issuing subcontract agreements
  • Monitoring subcontractor budgets and expenditure against forecasts
  • Valuing subcontractor work, approving interim payments, and managing final accounts
  • Handling variations, claims, and commercial disputes related to subcontractors
  • Conducting regular site visits to ensure compliance and progress
  • Working closely with project teams to provide commercial advice and ensure project profitability
  • Ensuring all subcontractor work meets contractual, safety, and quality standards
What you will need to succeed
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor managing subcontractors, ideally within passive fire protection, fit-out, or construction finishing trades
  • Strong knowledge of JCT or similar subcontract agreements and commercial procedures
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and numerical skills
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office and commercial software
