About Us

About the Role

As a Technician in the Sub-Assembly department at Venture, you will be part of a dynamic and highly skilled team delivering top-quality motorsport components to our clients. You will be responsible for the preparation, servicing, and build of gearboxes, suspension components, drivelines and other sub-assemblies essential to the performance of our LMDH WEC motorsport program. This is primarily a travelling role supporting race events, with factory-based work as required.

Reporting to the Sub-Assembly Lead &Chief Mechanic, you will work to agreed build processes and practices, maintaining accurate service and build records. You will contribute to delivering components on time and to the highest standards expected at Venture.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sub-Assembly Technician, you will take responsibility for the build, service, and inspection of precision motorsport components, ensuring all assemblies meet Venture’s performance and quality standards.

Prepare & Build Sub-Assemblies
  • Build, inspect, and service motorsport components including gearboxes, differentials, suspension components, driveline assemblies, and other relevant sub-assemblies following technical drawings, assembly instructions, and specifications.
  • Assemble and test ancillary systems such as cooling, lubrication, and fuel assemblies.
  • Work to tight tolerances using precision measurement tools, torque equipment, and assembly jigs.
  • Ensure all components are assembled with precision and in compliance with quality, performance, and safety standards.
Service & Maintenance
  • Perform routine servicing, strip, inspection, cleaning, and re‑assembly of mechanical components to professional motorsport standards.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in sub-assemblies to minimise downtime and maintain optimal performance.
  • Support vehicle build or test preparation activities where required.
Build Processes
  • Work in line with agreed build processes, ensuring consistency, repeatability, and quality.
  • Follow all safety protocols and report any hazards or risks to the Sub-Assembly Lead immediately.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of build methods, tooling, and techniques.
  • Collaborate with engineers and engine builders to ensure correct fitment, compatibility, and function of assemblies.
Record Keeping
  • Complete and maintain accurate build documentation, service histories, quality records, and parts traceability forms.
  • Document any deviations or modifications to standard processes and elevate to the Sub-Assembly Lead when necessary.
Qualifications, Skills & Personal Attributes
Essential:
  • Proven experience assembling and servicing engines, gearboxes, drivelines, and suspension components.
  • Experience within a motorsport, race team, or precision engineering environment is essential.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical assembly principles and motorsport component function.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly diagrams.
  • Skilled in the use of torque tools, precision measurement equipment, and assembly/alignment jigs.
  • Competent with build paperwork, quality control processes, and inspection documentation.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Be prepared to travel to events, tests, or client sites as required.
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with motorsport driveline or gearbox assembly (Hewland, Xtrac, Quaife or similar)
  • Knowledge of suspension systems and setup principles advantageous.
