A leading veterinary practice in Eastbourne is seeking a Student Veterinary Nurse to join their team. This role offers the chance to obtain Registered Veterinary Nurse status while providing hands-on patient care in a dynamic environment. Students will receive mentorship and must attend Plumpton College weekly to complete their Level 3 Apprenticeship. Previous experience in veterinary practice is essential.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Veterinary Nurse to join our team and obtain Registered Veterinary Nurse status! St Anne's is the largest Veterinary practice within the local area, employing 13 Veterinary Surgeons, a 16‑strong nursing team, made up of Registered and student nurses. Our nurses are lucky enough to be supported by a dedicated Patient Care Assistant team and a large Client Care and administration team, meaning that a large portion of their time can be spent doing what we all love – nursing our patients!
Nursing at St Anne's is fast‑paced and highly practical. Our nurses support our patients through all parts of their journey in practice – from enjoying consultations at the beginning of their lives, through to supporting them in wards, anaesthesia and surgery when times can be more worrying for pet owners. Our students are very much considered as a huge part of our team, and this is reflected in the support that you will be given. You will be provided with a dedicated mentor to support you in becoming a confident and capable Registered Veterinary Nurse.
Attendance to Plumpton College on a weekly basis is mandatory to achieving your Level 3 Apprenticeship in Veterinary Nursing and therefore you must hold 5 GCSEs grade 4‑9/A‑C or equivalent. English, Maths and Science must be included. Embarking on a career in Veterinary Nursing is hugely fulfilling, though it is imperative that you are in a position to provide commitment to both your practical role in clinic, alongside your theoretical studies and assessments.
It is expected that you will have gained experience in veterinary practice prior to application and have good knowledge of the role and expectations of a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
