Overview

Student Mental Health Assistant – Mainstream Primary School, Cheltenham. ASAP start. Suitable for a recent Psychology graduate or someone with a background in creative or therapeutic work who wants to gain experience supporting vulnerable children with emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with children facing challenges such as trauma, anxiety, school avoidance, and emotional regulation difficulties.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support their wellbeing and development.
  • Assist in creating a safe, nurturing environment alongside SENCOs, behaviour mentors, and teaching staff.
  • Be actively involved in emotional support programmes both in and outside of the classroom.

  • Term-Time only (Full-Time)
  • Salary: £85-£100 per day (depending on experience)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
